Nadine Ramos Founder Lasio

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, we’re shining a spotlight on a Hispanic-LatinX boss babe who inspires us to believe that anything is possible. Nadine Ramos (@nadineramos_lasio) is a trailblazing beauty entrepreneur who has shaken up the industry with her resilient spirit and innovative haircare line, Lasio Professional.

Ahead, we're sharing the incredible story of how this self-made beauty pioneer transformed her big dreams into a multi-million dollar enterprise.

Meet Nadine Ramos

Nadine Ramos is a New York native and proud Latina with Puerto Rican roots. Her story begins with a humble upbringing on Manhattan’s Lower East Side, where she overcame several challenges early on in life, such as her parent’s substance abuse, time in and out of foster care, and the responsibility of caring for her younger siblings. These hurdles in Nadine’s life are a true testament to her strength and represent the overarching themes of her journey: innovation, giving back, and resilience.

Fueled by her entrepreneurial spirit and love for beauty and fashion, Nadine set her sights on beauty entrepreneurship when she was just twenty years old. She had no professional funding or business acumen, but decided from the get-go that failure was not an option. Fortunately, Nadine’s “aha moment” came shortly after, when she stumbled upon an underground Brazilian hair straightening treatment known as
keratin. Impressed by the results, she traveled to Brazil on borrowed funds to find out more about this groundbreaking hair treatment.

After tracking down the treatment, she brought it back to New York City and spent the next five years perfecting what would become the Lasio Keratin Formula—a salon-friendly, US-compliant formula that could give women everywhere gorgeous-looking hair. It was from this innovative formula that the Lasio Professional brand was born.

Lasio Professional Haircare

When Lasio Professional was first launched in 2006, keratin treatments were still largely unknown in the United States. However, this new space in the beauty market would soon explode in popularity, with Lasio Professional leading the way. The company raked in over a million dollars during its first two years and the brand's success only continued from there.

Lasio Professional quickly became one of the most trusted and sought after hair smoothing brands and keratin education platforms in the business—with a well-earned reputation as one of the safest and most effective keratin options for stylists nationwide. You can find Lasio Professional products in over 20,000 salons in the U.S. and worldwide, as well as many premier online retailers, including SalonCentric.

Giving Back to the Community

Nadine’s story and work have been featured in leading publications like Cosmopolitan, Allure, NBC, FOX, and The Examiner, and she continues to reach new heights with the launch of Lasio’s sister brand, Blessed Bananas. Today, this beauty pioneer and self-made millionaire helps inspire and motivate others looking to fulfill their purpose and manifest their business dreams.

Her story of success is one that she hopes will lead other aspiring entrepreneurs to take risks, be “stubborn with their dreams,” and create something extraordinary. She wants people of all backgrounds to manifest their ideas into thriving companies, even in markets as competitive as haircare. If you ask Nadine, anything is possible.

She also has a huge passion for uplifting others and giving back to the community, actively mentoring young Latina entrepreneurs and speaking to aspiring business owners from similar backgrounds. She partners with foster care groups to offer career and beauty days, and supports the local church that once served as a refuge to her.
