It started out as spring’s biggest nail trend with a different shade painted on each nail for a shifting cascade of colors. Also known as multi-color, mix-and-match, gradient or rainbow, the look blew up Instagram feeds all over with celebs and models like Blake Lively, Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid sporting the mani. And over the past month or so, we started to see a slow transition to pastel iterations, and now, it’s all about the monochromatic version. Rather than five completely different shades, the monochromatic gradient look uses multiple shades from one color family for a more minimalist and an overall tonal effect. It’s the perfect look for your clients who have a difficult time picking a color, and want to stay on trend.
